The Family Dentistry Treatment Process

Dental Examination

The first step in the family dentistry process is a thorough dental examination. During this examination, Dr. Rick will check your teeth and gums for any signs of decay, disease, or other dental problems. He uses advanced dental technology to ensure that any issues are detected early, which can prevent more serious problems in the future. This step is crucial for maintaining good oral health and is an opportunity to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

Professional Cleaning

After the examination, a professional dental cleaning is performed. This involves removing any plaque or tartar build-up that regular brushing and flossing at home can't remove. This step is important in preventing gum disease and keeping your teeth looking their best. At Bee Creek Dental, we ensure this process is as comfortable and stress-free as possible for all family members.

Preventive and Restorative Treatments

The final step in the family dentistry process involves preventive and restorative treatments. These can include dental sealants to protect against decay, fluoride treatments to strengthen teeth, or restorative procedures such as fillings and crowns. Dr. Rick's goal is to help maintain your family's oral health and prevent future dental problems.

How Do I Care for My Dentures?

Rinse them when you take them out and before putting them back in. Always store your dentures in their storage case when you aren’t wearing them. Don’t run your dentures under hot water, which can morph them out-of-shape. You need to brush your dentures with a soft-bristle toothbrush and denture cleaner twice a day and should soak them in it at night. Avoid eating excessively hard or sticky foods.

How Will My Lifestyle Be Impacted If I Get Dentures?

It will take some getting used to when you first get dentures. At first you may notice that you’re producing more saliva and sound louder than normal, have a restricted diet and find it difficult to pronounce certain sounds. Your gums may also feel sore and tender. All of this will subside within about a month but you will still need to be mindful of what you eat, take your time, and cut your food into smaller bites.
